My friend Joe texted a pic of a pedal tambourine and asked if we could do the same with a shaker. This is what we came up with.

It was designed with our Beercan shakers in mind, but it’s capable of holding pretty much any shaker shape. The natural period of the swing is determined by the length of the rod, so you can vary it by 3 inches and see what works best. You can also put shakers in the top and/or front holder to adjust the feel and sound. Finally, your spring tension effects the return, so there are lots of variables to play with.
